Warming Up and Cooling Down

Warming up and Cooling down before and after an exercise should only take about 5-10 minutes. Muscles respond better to exercise when they have been warmed up and loosened, since stretching helps get the blood flowing, this process helps reduce the risk of muscle strains and injuries. Moderate stretching and a moderate run on the elliptical or treadmill can help prime your body and get you the jump start you need to start exercising.
